Getting crafty at home

Getting Crafty at Home (A.K.A. Turning Chaos Into Creation Like a Spiritual MacGyver)

So listen. When people say “get crafty at home,” they usually mean like… making a wreath. Or hot gluing some Dollar Tree shit into something Pinterest-worthy.

But when I say “getting crafty,” I mean channeling Spirit through my fingertips while trying not to burn the house down because I left the glue gun plugged in overnight again.

Crafting isn’t just something to keep the kids busy. For me, it’s a ritual. It’s therapy. It’s a damn portal.

Creativity Is a Healing Practice

Some people journal. Some people scream into a pillow. Me? I grab some Mod Podge, throw on a '90s playlist, and start painting oyster shells like I’m prepping offerings for a sea goddess. Because I probably am.

Every time I create something—whether it's a spell jar, a collage, a cord-cutting kit, or a janky-yet-magical crown for my granddaughter—I’m reclaiming a piece of myself. That wild, sacred, messy version of me that got buried under years of survival mode.

Crafting = connecting.

Connecting to:

  • My inner child who just wants to make a goddamn glittery mess

  • My divine feminine who’s tired of thinking and just wants to create

  • My ancestors who be whispering, “Glue the bones to the candle, baby—you’re on the right track”

How I "Get Crafty" (Even With Zero Time or Money)

Let me just be real. I don’t have a Michaels budget. I’ve got a Dollar Tree budget with a Hobby Lobby vision. But that’s where the real magic kicks in.

Here’s how I get down:

  • Rag rugs for yoga mats? Five Below.

  • Worn-out bedsheets turned into goddess robes? Yup.

  • Dried herbs from my kitchen turned into spell bundles? Absolutely.

  • Thrifted frames, broken jewelry, feathers from the yard? Give me a glue stick and a dream.

I’m not just “making crafts,” I’m making energy move. I’m taking pain and turning it into poetry. Taking trash and turning it into treasure. That’s sacred feminine alchemy, baby.

What We’re Actually Teaching Our Kids

Every time Emmitt or Willow sees me creating something out of nothing, they’re learning:

  • You don’t need to buy healing—you can make it.

  • Your ideas matter, even if they’re “weird.”

  • Beauty is in what you feel, not just what you see.

They’re watching me do witchy shit with popsicle sticks and calling it love. And it is.

So when I say “get crafty at home,” I don’t mean make something cute for Instagram. I mean: tap into that old magic inside of you that says, "I can make something beautiful out of anything—including this life."

Whether you’re painting rocks, building altars, sewing sigils, or just coloring with your kids on the floor—you’re creating a vibration. A frequency. A vibe that shifts the energy of your entire home.

That’s the real art.

🖤 Stay weird. Stay sacred. Stay glued to your purpose (and maybe that candle holder too).
